Join us on a relaxing bike ride in the greenest part of Tirana with the focus on sustainability. During this tour we will bike around the lake and through the forest, and see some interesting places in the park, stop there and get explanations from the guide (like the Amphitheatre, the dam, interesting birds, Monuments). You can enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful nature with its green trees and colorful flowers around you. The highlight of the tour will be a picknick with some traditional finger food for you to enjoy overlooking the lake, while the guide presents sustainability in general, in Tirana and Albania. He / She will talk about the challenges Albania faces, possible solutions, concepts and about Green Tirana’s sustainability policy. You are welcome to contribute your knowledge or ask questions; this can be a positive discussion of everyone as much as presentation of the guide. Who knows maybe you even find a solution for one of the problems together?
As we will be biking the whole tour, there will be no pollution (CO2 or noise pollution) and we will only have a small ecological footprint (GSTC D2.2). Because we set a maximum group size of 12 participants, we have a smaller impact per group, a better communication between every participant and the guide, plus the guide can better ensure your safety while cycling. Our guides have a broad knowledge of the area visited, know how to behave appropriately and are trained to pass on the information to our guests. You will gain new knowledge about sustainability in Albania (GSTC A9). We also hire only local guides, which mostly grew up in Tirana or the surroundings (GSTC B2). The images we show are real pictures of the park you will visit (GSTC A6). You will do something for your health as well, but please make sure you are capable of cycling for 2 hours, especially in the summer heat.
